First Meeting

The first Future-making Community meeting brought researchers together for three days of scholarly exchange, connection, and collective reflection, with a particular focus on practice perspectives on future-making.
We welcomed Silvia Gherardi and Neil Thompson as keynote speakers and explored expectations, fictions, and imaginaries in a reading session facilitated by Jochen Koch. Alongside these scholarly conversations, we began to articulate our shared purposes as a community, envisioned where we would like to go together, and took first steps toward translating that vision into concrete actions.
Futures Talk
27 July 2026 | Medellín, Colombia
This Café Futuros, organized by the Latin American Futures Network in partnership with Colegiatura University in Medellín, Colombia, explored the role of practices in shaping futures beyond the crisis of imagination and in the face of the challenges posed by artificial intelligence. It also addressed the need to find minimum agreements to ensure humanity’s survival amid the multiplicity of possible futures.
