The Future Making Network was established to foster a collaborative environment where scholarly inquiry meets societal impact. We aim to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application, ensuring that our collective efforts contribute to a more resilient and innovative future for all.
Origins of the Network
The Future Making Network emerged from an ongoing dialogue among researchers who shared a common interest in understanding how futures are made in and through organizational activities and practices. As the field expanded across different theoretical traditions, the need for a dedicated space for exchange, collaboration, and conceptual development became increasingly evident.
The network is currently supported by funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG), which enables its members to strengthen collaboration through workshops, joint research activities, and collective conceptual development. While this funding provides the conditions for sustained exchange, the network itself is shaped by the collective contributions, expertise, and shared commitment of its members.
International Visibility
Position future-making as an internationally visible field of research through joint publications, presence at major conferences, and a dedicated digital home for the community’s work.
